Rhinos Women take on Wolves in Betfred Women's Challenge Cup quarter finals this Saturday

For the sixth time since their debut season in 2018, Leeds Rhinos Women have booked their place in the quarter-finals of the Betfred Women's Challenge Cup as Lois Forsell's side prepare to take on Warrington Wolves at AMT Headingley this Saturday, kick off 12pm.

This year's Cup campaign has been spotless so far for the Rhinos as they beat all three of the group 4 opponents to book a spot in the final eight. Coming into last weekend's concluding match with wins against Hull KR and Leigh Leopards under their belts, Forsell's side secured top spot and a home quarter final as they dispatched Huddersfield Giants 54-10 with tries from Izzy Northrop, Amy Hardcastle, Lucy Murray, Olivia Whitehead, Shona Hoyle, two from Bethan Dainton and a hat trick from winger Tara Moxon.

The result confirmed that Leeds would be in the draw for the quarter final stage of the road to Wembley for the sixth time in their history. Since winning the Cup in their debut season in 2018, the Rhinos haven't missed out on a quarter-final appearance in the last five seasons (excluding 2020 when the competition was cancelled due to Covid). On two occasions, they have faced off against this Saturday's opponents Warrington, who are yet to beat Leeds in any competition, and the Rhinos have gone on to score 74 and 40 points on their way to the Final in 2019 and 2022.

The Wolves, coached by Armani Sharrock, have eyes on making it passed the final eight stage for the first time in the club's history, after being knocked out in the quarter finals of the 2021, 2022 and 2023 Cup campaigns.

This season saw Warrington finish as runners up to reigning champions St Helens, after Matty Smith's side beat the side in primrose and blue 58-6 last Sunday in a repeat of last year's quarter final.  The Wolves have proved clinical at points during their other two group games though as they beat Bradford 52-4 and London 24-6.
